More Logo Design Information
One of the most common problems faced in creating websites, comes from the poor resolution of some logos. When we say poor resolution, I don't mean that the logo itself looks horrible; what i mean is, that the graphic format given to us, is incorrect. These incorrect logo formats, sometimes are blurry, have unchangeable white backgrounds and also create a logo halo effect, when publishing online. Why is this? The reason for this, is that many business owners, create their own logo, without the correct graphic software. See, it's ok to have creativity and basic computer knowledge, but to use the wrong graphic software, is common. Sometimes going to the local retail shop and purchasing logo software, can cost you you time and money. Not only might you purchase the wrong software, but in the future you can also create yourself; problems with commercial printers, sign writers, website designers and basically anyone who requires your logo in vector format.
You may ask yourself the question, 'How do I know which is the best computer program, to create my logo in?'. Well there are many programs, like Adobe Illustrator, Coreldraw, Freehand and Indesign that allow you to create a vector graphic.
What is a vector graphic?
A vector graphic, is a mathematical description of an image. It is scaleable to any size and will not lose any image quality. Vector Graphic software will allow you to construct a logo correctly, and have access to electronic Pantone guides for assigning colours to the file. This vector file can then be exported into various raster formats, like jpeg, png or gif in order to be published to the web. This vector graphic is also a raw logo file, that can be emailed to your graphic designer or commercial printer. The common problem that occurs in using your logo for website creation, is when a customer gives us a raster graphic in jpeg, png or gif. As they are not giving us the original vector file, it can create issues in colour, background and resolution. So in other words, it's best to get your logo created by a professional graphic designer, from day one. And once you have received the file, make sure that you keep it in a safe place.
Just in case you are interested in creating the logo yourself, Coreldraw is an exceptional software for Vector Illustrations. Just click the banner below and you will proceed to the Coreldraw website.

What is a raster graphic?
First of all, it does not mean that the graphic has dreadlocks. A raster graphic is a type of graphic composed of coloured dots, or pixels. Raster graphics cannot be dramatically resized without image degradation. Examples of raster graphics are photos taken by digital cameras, as all photos are made up of pixels. You cannot enlarge the photo without image degradation. In website design, vector graphics can be converted into raster graphics, thus maintaining and creating a high resolution. This raster graphic is then website ready, with added backgrounds and colour matching.
